Privacy policy
Last updated:
This policy explains what personal information Vendor Optic collects through this website (vendoroptic.com and vendoroptic.ca), why we collect it, and the choices you have. The Vendor Optic product and the customer login at log.vendoroptic.com are covered by our customer agreements, not by this policy.
In short
- We collect the details you type into the “Book a demo” form, only to arrange your demo.
- We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. You can turn it off at any time.
- We don’t sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Information we collect
When you request a demo
Your full name, organization, work email, phone number and country, along with the page and language you used and the date and time. We use them to contact you about your demo and answer your questions. We don’t add you to a mailing list.
Google Analytics
The pages you view, how you arrived (for example from a search engine or a link), your approximate location (city or country), your type of device and browser, and actions such as opening the demo form or switching language. Google Analytics uses two cookies, _ga and _ga_RRQJCWR203, which hold a random identifier and last up to 13 months. Google Analytics 4 doesn’t log or store IP addresses. We never send form contents, names or email addresses to Google, and Google’s advertising features (Google signals and ad personalization) are turned off.
Server logs
Like every website, our web server records technical details about each request: IP address, date and time, the page or file requested, browser type and the referring page. We use these logs to keep the site secure and working, and to limit abuse such as repeated form submissions.
Fonts and code libraries
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts and code libraries from unpkg. Your browser connects to these services directly, so they receive your IP address and browser details as part of the request.
Stored in your browser
Your preferences (language, light or dark theme, paused animations and your analytics choice) are saved in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your device.
Turning off Google Analytics
Google Analytics is on by default. You can turn it off at any time: we delete its cookies from your browser and remember your choice for 13 months.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as an opt-out and don’t load Google Analytics. You can also install Google’s opt-out browser add-on or block cookies in your browser settings.
Your choice is saved in your browser. If you clear this site’s data or use another browser or device, you’ll need to opt out again.
Who we share it with
- Google LLC (Google Analytics): website usage statistics.
- Mail.Baby (email delivery): sends each demo request to our team.
We don’t sell or rent personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising. We may disclose information when the law requires it.
Where it’s stored
Demo requests are stored on a server we operate ourselves, not in a third-party marketing or sales tool, and only our team can access them. Google and our email delivery provider may process information outside Quebec and Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law.
How long we keep it
- Demo requests: as long as we need them to arrange your demo and follow up, then we delete them. You can ask us to delete yours at any time.
- Google Analytics data: up to 14 months.
- Server logs: about two weeks, then deleted automatically.
How we protect it
The site is served only over HTTPS. Demo requests are stored outside the public website, and only the service that receives them and our administrators can read them.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct it;
- delete it;
- stop using it, for example to stop contacting you.
Email privacy@vendoroptic.com. We reply within 30 days and may need to confirm your identity first. If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Quebec, the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
